1Challengers drop home opener 1-16
The Challengers' Softball Team endured two losses against reigning Swiss champions the Luzern Eagles on Saturday 27th April during their home opener. The Eagles proved why they are the best team in Switzerland, winning the first game in Saturday's doubleheader 16-1.In Game 1 the Eagles' Julia Gloukhoff drove in four runs, while Corina Casparis' two-run over the fence homerun put the Eagles way ahead early on. Ziegylou Wehrli led the Challengers in batting with two hits. Simona Cellar delivered a ground rule double over the right field fence, and with some smart base running, secured the Challengers' only run of the game.
