Barracudas no-hit Challengers

The Lady Challengers, despite their best efforts, fell twice to the Barracudas on Sunday June, 23rd.

In the first game the Challengers were not able to get the bats to come around and lost in four innings 11-0. Corina Grass tossed a no-hitter, allowing only three walks with one strikeout.

The C's had their only runners in scoring position in the top of the first inning, after Anouk Lkharrazi and Macy Morgan drew a walk each and reached third and second base on a passed ball, but Leandra Simitovic batted into an inning ending double play.

The Barracudas opened the score in the bottom of the first frame, as they delivered two doubles and two singles to make it 3-0.

After adding two more runs in the second inning, the Barracudas selt the deal in the third, scoring six runs on five hits and three errors from the C's defense.

Game notes
Simitovic made her 125th start for the Challengers, but ended up with the loss. She has a 81-56 record since 2004. ...Cellar saw her hitting streak stopped at 11. Her last game without a hit was on August 19, 2012 against the Bern Cardinals. ...For the Challengers it was the first loss against their cross-town rivals without scoring a run.
