6Challengers survive in 10
The Challengers needed extra innings to beat the underdogs Bandits 6-5.After wasting a 3-0 lead, and falling behind 4-3 in the eighth inning, the Challengers managed to come back to score the game-winning run on a defensive blunder by Bandits first baseman Werder.
With Simon Saxer standing on third base, Samuel Hauser hit a weak dribbler to Werder, who scooped up the ball. But with nobody covering first base, and Saxer racing home, he hesitated and made a wide throw, enabling Saxer to score easily.
Saxer tied a career-high with three hits.
Nick Lehmann also had three hits in three at-bats, raising his team-leading batting average to a hefty .667.
