14Unicorns blow away Challengers 14-1
The C’s were dominated by the good pitching and strong batting from the Unicorns in Saturday's doubleheader.The veterans were responsible for the only Challengers' run in Game 1, as Beat Eichenberger scored on a RBI-groundout by Pierre Burger and Eichenberger and Jan Stuchlik had a double each, as the Unicorns cruised to a 14-1 victory.
These were the only two hits allowed by Steiger as he sailed smoothly three times through the Challengers' lineup in seven innings.
After Eichenberger scored, only four more Challengers ever reached base.
They had the bases loaded in the fourth, but Samuel Hauser struck out to end the threat.
Eight errors by the Challengers did their part in Nick Lehmann picking up his third loss of the season, giving up 14 runs - six of them unearned - on 12 hits and two walks, while also striking out a career-high 11 batters.
