2Challengers edge Submarines 3-2
The Challengers laid the foundation for a possible promotion to the NLB with a 3-2 winover the Romanshorn Submarines.Roger Brunner pitched a complete game for his third win of the season, allowing two runs on seven hits and one base-on-balls while also striking out seven.
The Challengers scored all of their runs in the first inning on Roger Burger's RBI-single and Brunner's two-run single off Rüesch.
The Subs managed to score only one run apiece in the first and third innings.
But the rest of the game, Brunner (3-0) was too dominant and allowed just three runners to reach second base other than the ones who scored.
The Challengers were left hitless the rest of the game by Rüesch and reliever Barragan, but thanks to Brunner, the lead held up to the end.
