7Challengers lose 9-7 in final inning
The Challengers lost their final game of the regular season 9-7 to the Zurich Barracudas, but still qualified for the Promotion Round.With all three games of the season series between these two teams being each decided by a single run, this one was a clear affair with a two-run differential.
With both teams tied at 7-7 going into the sixth inning, the Barracudas profited from a fielding error by Chris Sochor, a double by Hector and a steal home to score two runs.
The Challengers didn't mamange to answer that, leaving two men on before Carlos Nepomuceno struck out for the final out.
The Challengers were limited to five hits by Stefan Spring, and also struck out 10 times against the Barracudas' ace.
