Challengers' offense explodes for 25 runs in six innings

The Challengers scored 25 runs - the most since scoring 34 runs against the Dulliken Truck Star on May 24, 1998 - and allowed only one - the lowest since also allowing one run against the same Romanshorn Submarines on June 28, 1997 - to beat the Submarines 25-1.

Hendrix Kämpfer went 2-for-5 and collected three RBI's.
The game was over in the first inning already as the Challengers jumped on starter Lieberherr and scored six runs.

Starter Oliver Labhart allowed only a single run in the bottom half of the inning on his own throwing error to first base, but it turned out to be the only run the Subs managed to put on the board.

Labhart finished the game by going the distance, allowing two hits, giving up four walks and striking out six.

Oliver Labhart threw a masterpiece and also led the offensive charge.
Labhart also led his offense as he went 5-for-6, including a two-run homer and two doubles, collecting five RBI's and scoring five runs.

Orlando Balbuena hit two homers, collected five RBI's and scored four runs.

Manuel Schretzmann went 3-for-3 with three RBI's, and Thomas Blank also went 3-for-3 after a 3-for-3 performance in Game 1. He has reached base in each of his 10 plate appearances in the season-opening doubleheader, including five singles, a two-run homer, four walks, seven runs and seven RBI's. He also stole a team-high four bases over the weekend.

The game was called in the top of the sixth inning because of the rain.
