The Challengers' squad was missing some key players like infielder Christian Bülte, catcher Tobias Siegrist and pitcher Benny Räber. The later two were involved with the NLA-team's Playoff Semifinal game against the Bern Cardinals.
The Challengers never had a chance to overcome the Lions' strong offense, who got 19 hits off starter Oliver Labhart and reliever Patrick Zöllig.
The Lions' lineup featured three former Challengers (Testino, Giorgio Szentgyörgyi and Fabian Monn) and they were coached by another ex-Challengers, Enrico Zingg.
The Challengers ended this year's Playoff round with a dismal 0-6 record, but nevertheless finished the Championship in an acceptable fourth place.
