They added three more in the third inning with a bases-loaded walk, and a two-run single by Jerome Müller for a commanding 7-0 lead.
The Eagles got lazy and enabled the Challengers to get those three runs back in the next inning. Benny Räber and Stefan Eisenring hit RBI-singles, and Wolfgang Laabs added a sac fly to trim the Eagles' lead to 7-3.
But the Eagles came back in the bottom of the fifth inning to extend their lead to 10-4 on three hits and two errors by the Challenger defense.
The Challengers had one last chance to fight back in the top of the seventh inning, but they managed only two runs on a fielding error and an RBI-single by Tobias Siegrist for the final score of 10-6 in favor of the Eagles.
