Urs Blickenstorfer went 3-for-4 with two RBI's and a double but had to be replaced after a collision at home plate with catcher Köstinger. He had a big cut above his right knee and went on the DL for further excaminations.
Harry Bregy (2-0) threw a complete-game seven-hitter, giving up just five earned runs and two walks while striking out six.
The Challengers provided him with a big lead after a big seven-run second inning and two more runs in the third inning. They sent 12 batters to the plate in that second inning.
But they bettered themselves by sending 14 batters to the plate in a huge 11-run sixth inning. Siegrist capped the inning with a two-run single, but was caught stealing right afterwards for the final out.
