Bregy had his best performance of the season, allowing just one run, no bases-on-balls and striking out five en route to just his second win of the season. He was helped by his defense that commited just one error, a bad throw by catcher Tobias Siegrist.
The Challenger offense managed just four hits off starter Friedli, but it was enough to beat the Submarines 2-1. One of the Challenger runs was a steal home by Philippe Rérat who reached on an error and the other one scored on a groundout to the catcher
by Oliver Labhart.
The Challengers had only seven baserunners compared to six by the Submarines; unusual numbers by Swiss teams, who usually allow at least 10 or more baserunners in seven-inning games.
