6Mustangs run over Challengers in 11-6 win
In Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader, the Embrach Mustangs roughed up Korey Kovac and the Challengers' pitching staff, beating them 11-6.Chris Hutchinson led the Mustangs' attack with four hits, including two doubles and an RBI, Bruno Albrecht went 2-for-4, scoring three times, and Andrew Wong picked up his first win of the season by tossing five solid innings.
On the other hand, starter Kovac didn't make it past the fourth inning, allowing seven runs - five of them earned - on six hits and one walk in 3 1-3 innings. He also struck out one.
Reliever Patrick Maier gave up three more runs in two innings of work, while Carl Conway and Yanik Probst didn't concede any more earned runs in the final 1 2-3 innings.
The only offensive highlight of the game for the Challengers was Jesus Martinez' first career homer in the new Heerenschürli ballpark, a solo shot off Wong to lead off the fourth inning.
A lousy defensive display with five errors contributed its part to the Challengers' record dropping to 2-5.
