1Croton stymies Challengers in 12-1 win
Lukas Croton and his offense completely dominated a weak Challengers lineup, defeating them 12-1 in seven innings in Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader.Last time the two teams met, both games went into extra innings with both teams winning a game. But this time, the Flyers were too strong as they converted eight hits and six walks into 12 runs.
Croton left after five innings, having given up only one run, and Stefan Koller pitched two perfect innings to complete the mercy-rule win.
Reto Siegel was the only player with two hits, and Hideori Oshima scored three times for the Flyers.
Starter Tobias Siegrits lasted 5+ innings, giving up nine runs - three of them unearned - on six hits and five base-on-balls, while striking out one batter. He picked up his career-high fifth loss of the season in the process.
