5Indians dominate Challengers in seven, 15-5
The Lausanne Indians once again dominated the Zurich Challengers, taking Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader 15-5.Nicolas Jaquemet again caused some headache to the Challengers, throwing a complete game, allowing five runs on eight hits and two walks, also striking out four.
Veteran Jose Colon had a homer and a double in four trips to the plate, collecting a game-high three RBI's.
The Challengers outhomered the Indians 2-1 with four-baggers coming off Tom Huston's and Jesus Martinez' bats.
Martinez and Huston lead the Challengers staff with five and three homers, respectively.
The Indians profited from a throwing error by catcher Chris Palatinus in the first inning to score two unearned runs off Willy Schaub in his first start of the season.
In the third inning, Colon's RBI-double and a balk by Schaub extended the Indians' lead to 4-0, before the Challengers struck for the first time in the bottom half of the inning.
A run-scoring ground out by Schaub and Martinez' solo shot got two runs back.
But the Indians again profited from the Challengers' lackluster defense, scoring two more unearned runs as third baseman Yonimiler Martinez booted a grounder, and inexperienced left fielder Adrian Kämpfer">Adrian Kämpfer misplayed the ball in the following action.
The game got out of the Challengers' hands as the Indians sent 11 batters to the plate in the fifth inning, scoring seven times for a comfortable 13-2 lead.
Thomas Landis relieved Schaub in that inning, and pitched the final 2 1-3 innings, allowing three more runs on three hits and a base-on-balls.

Jesus Martinez has hit all of his five homers in the last nine games.
