0Bregy shuts out Frogs
After Thomas Burger's complete game gem in Game 1, Harry Bregy topped that performance with a shutout performance in a 9-0 win in Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader. It was Bregy's first career shutout in the NLA, lowering his ERA to 1.47. He also improved to 4-0 on the season, his best start into a season since 2001 when he won his first five decisions.
At one point of the game, he retired 14 batters in a row.
The Frogs had only twice a runner on third base, but both were left stranded.
After three scoreless innings, the Challengers' offense started to kick into gear in the middle innings.
The first four batters of the Challengers' lineup reached base safely in nine out of ten times in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings, sending the game out of reach for the Frogs.
Two ground outs back to the mound ended the game, giving the Challengers a 10-4 record, second in the league.
