The Challengers overrun the Wil Devils in Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader with an 11-0 rout.Landis went 2-for-4 at the plate and also scored three times.
Not wanting to push Landis to much, coach Anthony Bennett hooked him in the fifth inning and brought on reliever Bryan Shemley.
He pitched two shutout innings for his first career win, allowing six baserunners on three walks, two hits and a hit-by-pitch.
Geovanni Ureña closed out the game by tossing the final inning, facing only the minimum of three batters.
At the plate, both Tobias Siegrist and Anubis Benitez collected three hits apiece, giving Benitez a team-leading .448 batting average.
Game notes
Benitez also stole his team-leading sixth base. He moved passed Kurt Vogt into sole possesion of third place with 152 steals. ...Joel Cox popped out in his 250th career NLA at-bat.
