Challengers outlast Indians 9-4

The Lausanne Indians tried everything to stop the Challengers' offense, even using 7 pitchers on the hill, but in the end, the Challengers prevailed with a 9-4 victory.

Two Indian players switched their positions on the field six times each, and Martinez went to the mound a total of three times. Landis' second double of the game capped the big ininng.

A balk by Martinez and a solo homer by Anubis Benitez - his first of the season - added two more insurance runs for the Challengers.

Geovanni Ureña and Bryan Shemley combined to pitch the final two innings, allowing just one more run on Nicolas Jaquemet's RBI-single in the sixth frame.

It was Landis' 94th win in 121 career starts. Second on the list is Benny Räber with 46 wins in 78 starts. His RBI in the fourth inning was his 500th of his career. ...Benitez' homer was his first since September 3, 2005.
