Bregy picks up fifth win en route to 21-3 win

Harry Bregy's record remained perfect and he took over the ERA lead by pitching five innings in Sunday's 21-3 win over the Embrach Rainbows.

Harry Bregy improved to 5-0 on the mound, but also contributed two RBI's with a double and two singles.
Bregy (5-0) cruised through the first three innings with Berryhill reaching as the only baserunner on third baseman Anubis Benitez' fielding error.

Bregy ran into trouble in the bottom of the fourth inning as he walked the first two batters before striking out Savoldelli.

Carl Hutchinson followed with a single that loaded the bases, and an errant throw from catcher Tobias Siegrist back to his pitcher scored the first run for the Rainbows.

Shortstop Patrick Zöllig's fielding error on Chris Hutchinson's ground ball and an RBI-single by Albrecht plated two more runners for the Rainbows.

Thomas Landis missed hitting a single in his final two at-bats for the cycle.
Bregy retired the side in the fifth inning to give him a team-leading ERA of 3.54 and his fifth win in five decisions this season.

Closer Manny Marchant took over and put his shutout string of 12 innings on the line.

He did it convincingly, giving up two singles, two walks and striking out three to extend his shutout streak to 14 innings this season.

The Challengers' offense was led by Jose Valdez who went 4-for-6, including his seventh homer of the year, three RBI's and four runs scored.

Thomas Landis popped out in his first at-bat, but then tripled, doubled and homered in his next three at-bats. But he missed hitting for the cycle by striking and grounding out in his next two at-bats.
