Harry Bregy improved to 3-0 on the season with yet another fine performance on the hill.
He allowed only two runs on five hits and one walk while also striking out seven.

He gave up only a single earned run on two hits, walking none and striking out four.

He also led off the fifth inning with his fifth homer of the season.

Thomas Landis returned with a bang, hitting his fifth homer of the season in the fifth inning.
The game was unexpectedly close as the Challengers led only 6-2 through the first four innings.

Lion starter Armando Vignotto did a nice job, keeping the Challenger batters off balance, before he lost it in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Landis led off the inning with a solo homer, and Manny Marchant hit his second homer of the day two batters later.

Three more Challengers scored and blew the game wide open at 12-2.

The Challengers even added some more padding to their lead by scoring six more in the next inning on five hits, one walk, one hit-by-pitch, and a defensive blunder by the Lions defense.

Chris Palatinus committed the only Challenger error in the game. It was his sixth error in 102 chances this season.
The defense again did a nice work with second baseman Chris Palatinus' misplay of Giorgio Szentgyörgyi's slow grounder being the only Challenger error of the game.

Landis led his offense with his four hits, Marchant and Jose Vazquez both added three hits, and Marchant even added a game-high four RBI's, giving him eight on the day, and a team-leading 32 on the season.

Game notes
Landis' homer in the fifth inning also included his 700th Total Base in his NLA-career. He leads all Challengers with 704. ...And, of course, Tobias Siegrist extended his hitting streak to 15 games with a double in the final inning in a team-low 1-for-5 performance.
