Harry Bregy delivered another stunning performance on the mound for the Challengers, pitching six innings in a 14-9 victory over the Embrach Rainbows in Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader.Harry Bregy not only pitched well, but he also went 2-for-3 at the plate, and also collecting two RBI's. |
A sac fly by Bruno Albrecht in the fifth inning scored one more run for the Rainbows, but Bregy's offense has given him a comfortable 10-1 lead by that time.
Bregy and his defense started to tire at the same time, and two errors and two doubles led to four runs - two of them unearned - in the fifth inning that cut the Challengers' lead to 10-6.
But the Challengers' offense still was running hot as it scored four runs, as well.
Jose Valdez hit just his third homer of the season for his only hit of the game. |
Bregy (2-0) picked up his second win of the season, allowing six runs - two of them unearned - on eight hits and two walks. He also struck out five.
Benitez finished the game but not before allowing a three-run homer to fellow countryman Francisco-Robles that put the final runs on the board.

Tobias Siegrist went 1-for-5 to keep his 13-game hitting-streak alive. ...Gerig's steal in the first inning was the only stolen base for the Rainbows in the game. Opposing baserunnes have just three stolen bases in seven tries against Challenger batteries in the last 8 games
