The Challengers sent nine batters to the plate in the second inning to jump to a 7-0 lead after just two frames. Nine more batters in the third inning pushed the Challengers' lead to 10-0 before the Devils finally managed to score a run by themselves.

At the end of the game, the Challengers had a season-high 21 hits, the highest total since also getting 21 hits against the Richterswil Athletics on June 3, 2000.
