Challengers 33, Hawks 16

There's a saying that goes: Revenge is sweet.

The Challengers wasted no time to prove that they're a playoff team and quickly jumped on the Hawks to take an 12-4 after just two innings. The Hawks already used three pitchers by that time and the Challengers collected 8 hits during that short span.

Nicki Lehmann and Patrick Bosshard led all players with four hits apiece.
But the Hawks managed to come back with seven runs of their own in the top of the fourth and suddenly, it was a one-run game.

The Challengers again reacted quickly and scored 10 additional runs in their half of the fourth to put the game away for good. They sent 13 batters to the plate, two less than in the second inning, and Chris Palatinus capped the inning with a three-run homer to right center field. It was his fourth homer of the season, tying him for the lead with Thomas Landis and Armin Blickenstorfer">Armin Blickenstorfer.

At the end of the game, the Challengers had 25 hits, 33 runs and 27 RBI's, all records for this season. Rookie Patrick Bosshard went 4-for-4 with three RBI's and five runs scored and Nicki Lehmann had also four hits to raise his batting average above .250 for the first time since May 24.

Benny Räber pitched his first complete game of this season to raise his record to 4-1. He allowed 16 runs but just seven of them were earned as the Challengers defense committed eight errors.
