The NLB-Team improved its record to 2-4 after a split with the 1st placed Wil Devils. In Game 1 the Devils erased a five-run deficit en route to a 20-12 victory. The C’s led 10-5 after 4 innings, as Simon Saxer and Adderly Sarmiento belted a two-run double each, before the defense fell apart.
In Game 2 the C’s fought back by building an early 4-1 lead and held on for a surprising 9-5 win. Nick Lehmann slugged a three-run homer, while Roger Burger had two doubles and Rookie Alex Keating added another one. Simon Saxer pitched 1.2 innings for the win, while Lehmann earned the save by pitching the last four frames.
The Challengers will face the Zürich Barracudas on Sunday, May 20 at the Heerenschürli.
