The U12-Juveniles finished their indoor season with an outstanding second place at the indoor tournament on Saturday, March 15 at Rümlang. The SG TruckStar/Challengers showed its best performance of the year, as the Juveniles beat the Lions/Rainbows and the Hunters/Frogs in the qualification round to finish in a three-way tie for second place with the Lions/Rainbows and the Hünenberg Unicorns. Thanks to the most runs scored – twenty – in the four games of the preeliminary round the SG TruckStar/Challengers faced the Rümlang Kobras in the final game, where the SG lost 3-9.
Die U12-Juveniles beendeten ihre Hallensaison am Samstag, 15. März mit einem herausragenden zweiten Rang am Hallenturnier in Rümlang. Die SG TruckStar/Challengers zeigte die beste Saisonleistung, bei welcher in der Vorrunde die Lions/Rainbows und die Hunters/Frogs bezwungen wurden. Am Ende schaffte die SG die Finalqualifikation dank der höheren Anzahl erzielter Runs (20) im Vergleich mit den punktgleichen Lions/Rainbows und Hünenberg Unicorns. Im Finalspiel unterlag die SG dem Gastgeber Rümlang Kobras mit 3-9.

Indoor Tournaments at Rümlang
The indoor season for our Juniors will end this upcoming weekend with two tournaments at Rümlang. The U12-Juveniles will play on Saturday, March 15, as the SG TruckStar/Challengers will face the Hünenberg Unicorns, Sissach Frogs, Lions/Rainbows and Rümlang Kobras. The first game will take place at 9 am, the final starts at 2 pm.
The tournament for the U15-Cadets will take place on Sunday, March 16. The SG TruckStar/Challengers will meet the Hünenberg Unicorns, Thun Hunters, Black Hawks and Rümlang Kobras with the first game starting at 10.30 am. The final will take place at 4.30 pm. On both days the games will be played at the Turnhalle Heuel, Katzenrütistr. 46, Rümlang.
Challengers reisen an den Europacup
Zum 14. Mal in der Vereinsgeschichte und zum ersten Mal seit 2008 nehmen die Challengers in diesem Jahr am Baseball Europacup teil. Möglich machten dies die Rückgabe des zweiten Schweizer Startplatzes durch die Embrach Mustangs und der Verzicht der Therwil Flyers nachzurücken.
Die Challengers werden vom 16. bis 21. Juni am European Cup Qualifier im belgischen Antwerpen teilnehmen. Gegner sind NADA Split aus Kroatien, die Vienna Wanderers aus Österreich, Leksand Baseball aus Schweden und der Gastgeber Brasschaat Braves.

The summer practice for the Zurich Challengers Baseball-Teams starts at April 2 and takes place every WEDNESDAY from 6pm to 10pm and every FRIDAY from 6pm to 8pm at the Heerenschürli ballpark in Zurich Schwamendingen (S-Bahn S3/S9/S12 and tram no. 7 to Bahnhof Stettbach or tram no. 9 to Hirzenbach).
In addition to that batting practice will take place every MONDAY and every THURSDAY at 7pm at the Heerenschürli batting cage.
Das Sommertraining für die Baseball-Teams der Zürich Challengers beginnt am 2. April und findet jeden MITTWOCH von 18:00 bis 22:00 Uhr und jeden FREITAG von 18:00 bis 20:00 Uhr im Baseballstadion Heerenschürli in Zürich Schwamendingen statt (S-Bahn S3/S9/S12 und Tram 7 bis Bahnhof Stettbach oder Tram 9 bis Hirzenbach).
Zusätzlich findet jeden MONTAG und jeden DONNERSTAG ab 19:00 Uhr das Batting Practice im Batting Cage auf dem Heerenschürli statt.

The Klopstockwiese is right at the corner of Bederstrasse and Klopstockstrasse (Tram 5 & 13, Bus 33 to Waffenplatzstrasse).

Juniors play indoor tournament at Olten
On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Truck Star Dulliken our partner team organizes the 1st Baseball Indoor Tournament at Olten on Sunday, March 9.
The U12-Juveniles from the TruckStar/Challengers will face the Hünenberg Unicorns, Rümlang Kobras and Wittenbach Vikings starting at 9.00 am against the Unicorns.
The U15-Cadets will play the Cardinals/Frogs, Hünenberg Unicorns and Thun Hunters beginning at 1.15pm. All games will be played at Stadthalle Kleinholz at Olten.
Junioren spielten in Therwil
Die Challengers Junioren bestritten zusammen mit den Dulliken TruckStar am Sonntag, 16. Februar das Hallenturnier in Therwil. Sowohl die U12-Juveniles als auch die U15-Cadets beendeten das Turnier im vierten Rang, wobei die U12-Juveniles den einzigen Sieg für die SG TruckStar/Challengers erzielen konnten.

Juniors travel to Therwil on Sunday
The U12-Juveniles and the U15-Cadets will participate at their second indoor tournament of the season on Sunday, February 16 at the 8th Baseball Indoor Tournament at Therwil. The Challengers will play together with the Dulliken TruckStar. All games will be played at the 99-er Sporthalle (Mühlebodenschulhaus, Schulgasse 1, 4106 Therwil).
The U12-Juveniles will face the Therwil Flyers, Rümlang Kobras and the Neuenburg Atomics from Germany. The first game for the SG TruckStar/Challengers will start at 9.55am.
The U15-Cadets will start their tournament at 3.20pm against the Thun Hunters and will also play the Neuenburg Atomics and the Therwil Flyers.
Provisional schedule published
The provisional schedule for the 2014 NLA season has been published on February 2. The six teams in the Baseball NLA will play 25 games each and will face every opponent five times. The Challengers will start their season with a double header against their archrival Therwil Flyers the Zurich Barracudas on Sunday, April 6 at the Heerenschürli ballpark.
The Zurich Softball Team with players from the Zurich Barracudas and the Zurich Challengers will open its season on Sunday, April 27 against the Bern Cardinals at Bern. Because of the Softball League has been reduced to five teams, each team will play only 16 regular season games in 2014.
Juniors open indoor season
The U12-Juveniles and the U15-Cadets will open their indoor season on Saturday, February 1 at the Embrach Indoor Baseball Tournament at the Turnhalle Breiti (Schützenhausstr. 20, 8424 Embrach). The Challengers will play together with the Dulliken TruckStar.
The U12-Juveniles will face the Rümlang Kobras, Wittenbach Vikings and Wil Devils. The first game for the SG TruckStar/Challengers will start at 8.30am, the final will be played at 12.30pm.
The U15-Cadets will start their tournament at 1.30pm against the Therwil Flyers and will also play the Black Hawks, Rümlang Kobras and Wil Devils. The final will take place at 6.00pm.
