For the first time in the history of Baseball and Softball in Switzerland the Softball Nationalteam has the possibility to represent Switzerland at the World Championships, that will take place from July 15 till 24 at Surrey, Canada. The Challengers players Simona Cellar and Leandra Simitovic are part of the Swiss roster.
For that the team can worthily represent its country off the field too, the players launched a project on the crowdfunding platform I believe in you, which is the most successful crowdfunding platform in the world. I believe in you was founded by the Swiss olympic athletes Mike Kurt (canoe) and Fabian Kauter (fencing) and the online-specialist Philipp Furrer.
The players bear a big part of the costs for the trip, practice games and practices. In addition to that they also have to pay for the equipment. With your support you are helping the Swiss Softball Nationalteam to make their dream come true.
Further informations about the project and how to support the team are available at I believe in you.

The Challengers finished the indoor season in style at the Rümlang indoor tournament that took place on Saturday, March 19. The U12-Juveniles won their third tournament in a row. After a loss in the round robin against the Vikings/Devils the Challengers turned things around in the final game, winning 11-5 against the same opponent. Nick Siemers and Bastian Kämpfer – in the final – delivered homeruns for the C’s.
In the afternoon the U15-Cadets surprisingly clinched a final berth as well. After a 5-5 tie with the Therwil Flyers the Challengers/Bandits posted a 6-3 win over the Vikings/Devils. And even in the final against the Rümlang Kobras the C’s took an early 4-0 lead. But the Kobras fought back to eventually win 8-6. Nonetheless it was the best performance from the Challengers in 2016 so far.
Juveniles win again
The U12-Juveniles confirmed the progress they made over the last few months and won the U12 Category at the 3rd Dreitannen Cup in Olten. The Challengers played three highly concentrated games with good performances with the bats and gloves. The team of head coach Adrian Kämpfer finished in first place with wins over the Therwil Flyers, the Dulliken Truckstar and the Hünenberg Unicorns. After the success in Embrach four weeks ago, this is already the second tournament win of the indoor season. The last indoor tournament of the season will take place on March 19 at Rümlang, before the outdoor season starts on April 2 at Wittenbach.
The U15-Cadets played a good tournament as well, finishing in 3rd place with a 2-2 record. The Challengers posted two wins against the Therwil Flyers and the TruckStar/Hunters and lost to the Hünenberg Unicorns and the Sissach Frogs, who won the tournament. Divianshu Tyagi was responsible for the highlight of the afternoon, as he belted a homerun against the TruckStar/Hunters.
