The Challengers experienced one of their worst days in team’s history on Saturday, May 30. With scheduled Game 1 starter Tobias Siegrist sidelined with a foot injury Harry Bregy stepped on the mound. After a shaky first inning with the Flyers taking a 3-0 lead, the two teams exchanged zeros on the board for the next three frames. Then came the fifth and the Flyers’ bats exploded. Even the C’s bullpen couldn’t stop the bleeding, as the Flyers scored 17 runs in that one inning to eventually win 20-0.
Game 2 started much closer, as the Flyers opened the score with a run in the third inning to make it 1-0. But all of a sudden things fell apart for the C’s again and the Flyers cruised to an 11-1 win to outscore the Challengers 31-1 in just 12 innings. The C’s are now tied for fourth place with a 4-6 record.
