The Zürich Challengers and the Sissach Frogs split again on Saturday, June 4 at the Heerenschürli ballpark. And again the C’s took Game 1, as they held on for a 6-4 victory over the Frogs.
Tobias Siegrist recorded his third win of the season, as he allowed four runs and six hits with four walks and five strikeouts in seven strong innings, while Thomas Burger earned his first save of the year. Carlos Pena reached base four times and scored twice, while Säntis Zeller delivered a triple.
Already one week ago the Frogs fought back in Game 2. This time they broke open a 2-2 tie with a five-run fifth inning for a 7-2 win. The C’s bats weren’t on fire, as the offense combined for only six hits. The C’s remain in fifth place with a 7-8 record.
