Challengers force Game 5

The Challengers evened their best-of-five Semifinal Series with the Therwil Flyers at 2, after winning Game 4 at the Heerenschürli ballpark on Saturday, September 27. Lowuin Sacramento tossed another masterpiece and Ryan Byrne drove in all three runs en route to a 3-0 shutout victory for the C’s.

The two teams exchanged zeros on the scoreboard through five frames, before the C’s put the first run on the board. NLB-Team’s season ends in disappointment

The NLB-Team cruised through the qualification round and swept the Jona Bandits in the quarter-final series and won 16 out of 17 games so far. But the Challengers’ season ended cold turkey on Saturday, September 20. The Sissach Frogs proved to be too strong for the C’s, as they were swept in the best-of-three semi-final series by the Frogs. The Frogs perfectly played small ball and added the big hit, as they hit a grand-slam en route to a 7-0 win in Game 1.

And the Frogs kept the Challengers’ bats quiet in the second game too. The Frogs took a no-hitter into the fifth inning and held on for an 8-5 victory to clinch the final berth. The Challengers battled hard and had the tying run at the plate in the seventh, but couldn’t avoid the loss, that ended the Challengers’ season.
