The NLB-Team remained perfect in 2014 and extended its winning streak to nine games, after beating its cross-town rivals Zürich Barracudas 4-3 on Wednesday night at the Heerenschürli ballpark. And it was a dramatic win for the C's in a game that included a triple play, a two-run infield fly, a winner who was outhit 7-4 and a second baseman who juggled the ball about three times for the final out of the game with a one-run lead and runners on second and third base.
Challengers starter Oli Christen went 7.1 innings allowing three runs – two earned – and seven hits with seven strikeouts for his third win of the season, while Nick Lehmann pitched the final 1.2 innings to notch the save. The C's will face the Embrach Mustangs on Sunday, August 10 for a double header.
