The Challengers lost twice on Saturday, April 28 at Therwil against last year’s finalist Therwil Flyers to fall to 0-4. As in the first two games of the season the C’s were playing solid defense again, but couldn’t cash in with runners in scoring position. Starter Andrea Girasole gave up six runs and six hits with eight walks and five strikeouts, as the Flyers posted a 6-3 victory in Game 1. American Rob Sedin had a hit, a stolen base and scored a run in his debut for the Challengers.
The Flyers pitchers kept the Challengers’ bats silent in Game 2 again, as the Flyers held on for a 5-3 win. The C’s will travel to Wil on Saturday, May 5, where they will face the Devils.
